Authorities Continue to Investigate Death of Missing Man Following Recovery of Body from Downtown Annapolis Waterway

An investigation is ongoing into the death of a missing man since a body was recently discovered in the waters of downtown Annapolis.

The remains of Cameron Isaiah Phillips, 20, were discovered on April 25, 2025, at approximately 5:39 p.m., after officers responded to the water near the Truxton Boat Ramp area for a report of a body floating under the pier. The Annapolis Harbormaster reportedly observed Mr. Phillips' body wedged under the pier prior to contacting the police.

The fire department responded and carefully removed the body from the water. The remains were taken to the Chief Medical Examiner's office in Baltimore for an autopsy to determine a cause and manner of death. According to a spokesperson for the Medical Examiner's office, their case is pending. According to an online database, Mr. Phillips had been reported missing by his family prior to the recovery of his body on April 25.

Report Annapolis requested information from the Annapolis Police Department; however, additional details regarding the status of the investigation from the police department were not immediately available.
