Annapolis Man Detained for Issuing Threats of Mass Violence Against Former Employer
The Queen Anne's County Sheriff's Office has apprehended an individual from Annapolis in connection with alleged threats of mass violence directed at his former employer.
On May 1st, 2025, authorities received a report from a Queen Anne's County business, PRS Guitars in Stevensville, after a private citizen contacted the employer to express concern over threats allegedly made by a former employee. Due to the serious nature of the threats, the business then notified law enforcement.
Following an investigation, detectives identified the suspect as Joshua Broomfield, 23.
Detectives conducted multiple interviews with witnesses as well as Broomfield regarding the alleged threats. After a comprehensive review of the facts and in consultation with the Queen Anne's County State's Attorney's Office, it was determined that criminal charges were warranted. As a result, Broomfield was charged with Threat of Mass Violence and Arson.
On May 2nd an arrest warrant was issued for Broomfield, and on May 6th, he voluntarily turned himself into the Sheriff's Office without incident.
