Authorities Charge Kylee Dakes and Jonah Poole, Both 18, in Connection with Death of Man Found Dead Inside Burning Vehicle in Davidsonville

The Anne Arundel County Police Department today has announced the arrest of two individuals in connection with the death of a man who was found dead inside of a burning vehicle in Davidsonville. 

On May 24, 2025, at 9:25 p.m., Anne Arundel County Police officers and Fire personnel responded to 600 West Central Avenue, Davidsonville for a vehicle fire. Upon arrival, emergency crews located a vehicle fully engulfed in flames in the parking lot of the commercial business. The fire was extinguished, revealing human remains inside the passenger compartment of the burned vehicle.

The Office of the State Medical Examiner has ruled the manner of death a homicide; however, the determination of the cause of death is pending. Detectives, through investigative means, identified two suspects in this case. They are still working to identify the adult male victim.

On May 31, 2025, 18-year-old Jonah Michael Poole, of Davidsonville, and 18-year-old Kylee Alyssa Dakes, of Harwood were taken into custody at a residence in the unit block of Bethel Lane in Harwood and charged with First and Second Degree Murder, First and Second Degree Assault, Conspiracy to Commit First and Second Degree Murder, and Arson.
