Local artist Comacell Brown Jr. has advanced to the Top 20 in “The People’s Artist” competition, a national art competition presented by Johnny Depp.
Mr. Brown announced the milestone in a social media post celebrating the achievement and thanking supporters who have followed his artistic journey throughout the years. “Made it to the TOP 20 in The People’s Artist competition,” Mr. Brown wrote. “This journey has been bigger than art. Every mural, canvas, late night, community project, and supporter helped push this moment forward.”
The Annapolis-based artist is widely known for his artwork, community-centered projects, and creative presence throughout the city and county, including the design of Robert Eades Park within the Old 4th Ward community of Annapolis, and a mural on the two exterior walls of Rotary Park in Glen Burnie.
