Anne Arundel County Leaders Celebrate National Bring Your Child to Work Day 2026
Leaders across Anne Arundel County recently recognized National Bring Your Child to Work Day 2026 by welcoming young people into workplaces and offering a firsthand glimpse into a wide range of careers.
Observed each year on the fourth Thursday in April, National Bring Your Child to Work Day encourages children to explore the professional world by accompanying a parent, guardian, or mentor to their place of employment. The day is widely recognized across the United States as an opportunity to promote career awareness, mentorship, and early exposure to workplace environments.
Local leaders, including State’s Attorney Anne Colt Leitess, Sheriff Everett Sesker, and Clerk of the Circuit Court Scott Poyer, marked the occasion with activities designed to introduce children to various roles and responsibilities.
At the Anne Arundel County Circuit Courthouse in Annapolis, Clerk Poyer hosted Bring Your Child to Work Day for the children of courthouse employees. Following his opening remarks, State’s Attorney Leitess provided an overview of the role of criminal prosecutors. Participants also enjoyed a visit from Caring Canines, an interactive courtroom experience, and a presentation by the Anne Arundel County Sheriff’s Office led by Sheriff Sesker.
