In a statement released by the party, Biden said he looks forward to joining Maryland Democrats as they prepare for the 2026 midterm elections and praised grassroots activists for their efforts in organizing, voter outreach, and community engagement.

The gala is expected to bring together Democratic elected officials, labor leaders, organizers, advocates, campaign professionals, volunteers, and voters from across Maryland. Party leaders said the event is designed to help strengthen coalitions, prepare candidates, and mobilize supporters ahead of the upcoming election cycle.

Maryland Democratic Party Chair Steuart Pittman welcomed Biden’s return to Maryland, crediting his administration with achievements that he said benefited residents throughout the state. Pittman highlighted increased enrollment in health insurance through the Affordable Care Act, private-sector investment in Maryland, and student debt relief approved for thousands of Marylanders.

Maryland Governor Wes Moore also praised Biden’s record, citing job growth and economic investment during the Biden administration. Moore pointed to major infrastructure projects, including the rebuilding of the Francis Scott Key Bridge and construction of the Frederick Douglass Tunnel, as examples of federal support benefiting Maryland communities.

The announcement also highlighted Biden’s more than five decades of public service. After being elected to the U.S. Senate from Delaware in 1972 at age 29, Biden went on to serve 36 years in the Senate, eight years as Vice President of the United States, and four years as the nation’s 46th president.

According to the Maryland Democratic Party, Biden’s administration oversaw investments in infrastructure, domestic manufacturing, transportation, clean energy, broadband expansion, and programs aimed at lowering costs for families and seniors.

The Fight Back & Win Gala follows the Maryland Democratic Party’s inaugural Fight Back & Win Summit, a statewide event focused on advocacy, coalition-building, communications, digital engagement, fundraising, and campaign preparation for the 2026 election cycle.

Tickets for the gala are currently available through the Maryland Democratic Party.
