Police Arrest Eric William Marney, 32, of Brooklyn Park On Child Pornography Related Charges

Eric William Marney, a 32 year old man from Brooklyn Park, has been arrested on child porn charges by the Anne Arundel County Police Department after a lengthy investigation.  

On May 12, 2020, the Anne Arundel County Child Abuse Unit initiated an investigation in reference to a report of a specific account that was directly associated in uploading child pornographic images to a particular internet site. 

As a result of issuing and executing several court orders, detectives identified a suspect as well as his place of residence. On June 29, 2020, detectives executed a residential search warrant in the 700 block of Hammonds Lane, Brooklyn, Maryland. The suspect who was identified as Eric William Marney, a thirty two year-old-male of the same address, was on scene. 

Numerous digital devices were taken into custody and secured as evidence in order that the devices could be analyzed. Upon the results of the forensic analysis, detectives recovered approximately one thousand (1,000) images of child pornography. 

A warrant was issued for the arrest of Eric Marney charging him with sixteen counts of possession of child pornography and six counts of distribution of child pornography. On February 6, 2021, the suspect was placed under arrest without incident and transported to Central Booking where he was served a copy of the warrant. Eric Marney is currently being held without bail at the Anne Arundel County Detention Center as of February 6, 2021.
