Sheriff’s Deputies Assist in Arrest of Glen Burnie Man Wanted on Child Sex Offense Allegations
The Anne Arundel County Sheriff’s Office yesterday assisted in the arrest of a Glen Burnie man wanted on an active warrant in connection with sexual offense allegations involving an underage individual, a press release states.
According to the statement, on January 19, 2026, deputies assisted the Anne Arundel County Police Department’s Criminal Investigation Division Child Abuse Unit in arresting 19-year-old Juan Angel Garcia-Mejia of Glen Burnie.
The Sheriff's Office said Mr. Garcia-Mejia, who remains innocent until proven guilty in a court of law, was transported to the Jennifer Road Detention Center for booking. He is reportedly being held without bond on multiple counts of third- and fourth-degree sex offenses, as well as four counts of second-degree assault.
