Anne Arundel County's Most Influential Community Leaders to be Recognized at the 2026 Few of the Many Awards Ceremony

The 2026 Few of the Many Awards Ceremony, organized by Anne Arundel County Executive Steuart Pittman and the Caucus of African American Leaders, will take place on February 23, 2026, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Maryland Hall in Annapolis, recognizing some of the county's most influential community leaders. 

This year's event will reflect on 'Eight Years of Black History Commemorations,' honoring leaders, neighbors, advocates, and culture keepers who have shaped the county's story. 

The honorees include Retired Educator George Trotter, Annapolis Alderwoman Diesha Contee, Anne Arundel County Police Chief Amal Awad, and Dr. Mark Bedell, Superintendent of Schools for Anne Arundel County. Additionally, Ruby Singleton Blakeney, the former director of the Small and Minority Business Enterprise division for the City of Annapolis, and Impactful community stewards Deonte Ward and Coren Makell will also be recognized.
