The Anne Arundel County Police Department has announced the arrest of a man from Severn on sexual solicitation of a minor allegations.
In a statement, department officials said in August 2025, the Anne Arundel County Police Department’s Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Unit received a Cybertip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC). The tip detailed allegations of an adult male engaging a juvenile female in illicit online communication, during which images were allegedly exchanged, department officials stated.
'Through the investigation, ICAC detectives identified the adult male as Juan Francisco Palacios-Velazquez. Palacios-Velazquez, who remains innocent until proven guilty in a court of law, is a local baseball trainer who used a training facility in Anne Arundel County," the statement reads. "During the investigation, detectives obtained a search warrant and seized numerous items of evidence related to the ongoing investigation. The training facility he used was notified that Palacios-Velazquez was under investigation regarding child safety."
According to the police department, detectives reportedly presented the case to the State’s Attorney’s Office and on February 26, 2026, an application for charges was submitted to the Court Commissioner charging Juan Francisco Palacios-Velazquez with Sexual Solicitation of a Minor, Solicitation of Child Pornography and Child Pornography – Permitting Sex Subject.
"Palacios-Velazquez was arrested by the Sheriff's Department on February 27, 2026. He was initially held without bond and subsequently released on his own recognizance on March 2, 2026," police department officials said.
