Press Release: Fire on Carver Street in Annapolis Under Investigation After Firefighter Hospitalized
After a structure fire broke out on the unit block of Carver Street, the Annapolis Fire Department is investigating the blaze that sent one firefighter to the hospital and displaced two residents, fire department officials has announced. (photo credit: Annapolis Fire Department)
The fire, discovered by the homeowner around 12:10 p.m. on Wednesday, March 11, originated in the first-floor bathroom of a two-story single-family home., according to the press release by the Annapolis Fire Department.
Crews from the Annapolis Fire Department, assisted by the Anne Arundel County Fire Department and the Naval District Washington Fire Department Annapolis, responded with approximately 40 personnel, the release states. Firefighters reportedly controlled the blaze in roughly 50 minutes despite hoarding conditions.
Two residents were evaluated for smoke inhalation on scene but declined transport. In the press release, officials stated "one firefighter was transported to the local hospital."
The Red Cross assisted the displaced occupants, while the Fire and Explosives Services Unit investigates the cause and extent of damage.
