Charging Documents Allege Suspect Said “He Snapped” Before Fatal Northrop Grumman Shooting
Court documents associated with a recent fatal shooting at Northrop Grumman in Linthicum outline the murder allegations against the contracted security guard accused of fatally shooting his colleague in what was reportedly over a workplace dispute.
According to law enforcement sources, on January 28, 2026, at approximately 3:30 p.m., officers with the Anne Arundel County Police Department responded to the Northrop Grumman facility located in the 7300 block of Aviation Boulevard following the report of a shooting.
"Preliminary information indicates there was a dispute inside the Northrop Grumman facility between two contracted security guards. During the dispute, one security guard discharged his firearm, striking the other security guard. The victim, identified as 37-year-old Joseph Keith Aman (pictured below) of Baltimore, died from his injuries at the scene," county police stated. "A third contracted security guard intervened, disarmed the suspect and took him into custody. This was an isolated incident and did not involve Northrop Grumman employees."
The charging documents (which can be viewed by clicking here), detailed what reportedly led to the moment when Mr. Aman was shot in the head by his colleague who allegedly told police that he "snapped" prior to pulling the trigger.
26 year old Dylan Blake Chandler of Pasadena, who remains innocent until proven guilty in a court of law, has been charged with first degree murder, second degree murder and related charges. Mr. Chandler is currently being held without bond following a hearing in the Glen Burnie District Court.
