Community Rallies Around Millersville Man Awaiting Rare Triple Organ Transplant

The local community is rallying together in faith, hope, and support of 42 year old Janathan Crutchfield of Millersville, who is awaiting a rare triple organ transplant.

According to information shared through a GoFundMe campaign, Mr. Crutchfield has spent weeks at Johns Hopkins Hospital after suffering cardiogenic shock on June 29, following years of living with advanced heart failure caused by cardiomyopathy. The medical emergency reportedly resulted in multiple organ failure, leading to an extended stay in the intensive care unit.

Since his hospitalization, Mr. Crutchfield has undergone dialysis, numerous medical procedures, blood transfusions, treatment for bleeding complications, and continuous critical care.

The GoFundMe profile says Mr. Crutchfield is currently being sustained by advanced life-support measures, including ECMO, continuous renal replacement therapy (CRRT), and an Impella left ventricular assist device (LVAD), while he awaits a matching donor for a heart, liver, and kidney transplant. According to the campaign, he has been placed on the transplant waiting list for all three organs.

Beyond the medical challenges, Mr. Crutchfield's loved ones describe him as a devoted husband and father, as well as a beloved son, brother, uncle, cousin, nephew, and loyal friend.
