Annapolis Police Foundation Hosts 7th Annual "Shop With A Cop Back to School Edition"

The Annapolis Police Foundation welcomed 21 local middle school students today for its 7th Annual Shop With A Cop, Back to School Edition, helping students prepare for the upcoming school year with new school uniforms and positive interactions with members of the community.

Held at Old Navy in the Annapolis Harbour Center, the event paired each student with an Annapolis Police Foundation board member and/or an officer from the Annapolis Police Department for an afternoon of back-to-school shopping, giving students the opportunity to build new relationships while selecting the clothing they need for the start of the school year.

Each student initially received a $100 shopping budget. Before shopping began, longtime Annapolis Police Foundation supporter Paul LaRochelle, General Manager and Partner at Sheehy Lexus of Annapolis, surprised participants by donating an additional $100 for every student, doubling each child's shopping budget.

Old Navy also contributed by providing an additional discount at checkout, allowing students to purchase even more school essentials.

According to the Annapolis Police Foundation, the event was filled with excitement as students shopped alongside officers and volunteers, creating lasting memories while preparing for a successful school year.

The annual program is designed not only to assist families with back-to-school expenses, but also to strengthen relationships between young people, law enforcement, and the broader Annapolis community through positive, meaningful engagement.

The Annapolis Police Foundation expressed its appreciation to all of the volunteers, partners, donors, and supporters who helped make the event possible, noting that community partnerships continue to make a lasting difference in the lives of local students as they prepare to return to the classroom.
