Annapolis City Council Recognizes Community Leaders, Police Employees and Volunteers for Service

City employees, volunteers and community leaders  were among those recognized during Monday night’s Annapolis City Council meeting for their service, dedication and contributions to the community.

Heaven White, Toni Strong-Pratt and William Pratt received citations recognizing their service, commitment and dedication to the citizens of Annapolis.

The City Council also recognized Annapolis Police Department employees Officer First Class Amanda Benson and Milgia “Millie” Rodas Guerra with citations for going above and beyond the call of duty. Rossio J. Ramirez Smith, the City of Annapolis’ Hispanic Community Services Specialist, LGBTQIA+ Liaison and Boards and Commissions Support, was also recognized for her dedicated service to the community.

As part of the evening’s recognitions, the city issued a proclamation and citations in recognition of National Preparedness Month and Food Friday volunteers for their service.

Former employees of Bitty & Beau’s Coffee, which recently closed its Annapolis location, were also recognized during the meeting. The recognition included the owner of Abby Adams, who hired 11 former Bitty & Beau’s employees.

The city also issued a proclamation recognizing Hispanic Heritage Month.

“We thank these outstanding members of our community for all they do,” the City of Annapolis stated.
