Man Found Hanging From Tree in Upper Marlboro, Police Investigating Death

Detectives and evidence technicians responded and immediately began a death investigation, which included interviewing witnesses and examining evidence at the scene. The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner also responded and transported the man's body for an autopsy.

Based on the preliminary investigation, including interviews with individuals who knew the deceased and information gathered about his background, investigators believe the death was a suicide. Police stated that no evidence of foul play has been found at this time.

The investigation remains open, and detectives will continue examining the circumstances surrounding the man's death.

Recognizing the distress the incident may have caused residents who witnessed the scene or learned about the death, Prince George's County Executive Braveboy and Police Chief Nader participated in a community call Sunday afternoon to address concerns, answer questions and provide information about available mental health resources.
