Severn Woman, 22, Charged in Connection with Stabbing Inside Gambrills Grocery Store


A 22 year old woman from Severn has been charged in connection with an alleged stabbing at a local grocery store.

On October 3, 2023, at approximately 3:00 p.m.,  officers responded for a report of a stabbing at Wegmans located at 1413 South Main Chapel Way in Gambrills, according to the Anne Arundel County Police Department. The 21-year-old male victim was shopping when a female suspect charged at him wielding a box cutter knife. The victim was initially able to block the assault, the department said.   

A statement by police says that the victim then attempted to restrain the suspect and was stabbed by the suspect in his torso, causing non-life-threatening injuries. The victim was reportedly treated at the scene by fire department personnel. 

The suspect was arrested, charged and identified as: Hannah Marie Shields (shown below).
