GoFundMe Created in Support of Injured Anne Arundel County Firefighter
An online fundraiser has been established in benefit of an injured Anne Arundel County Firefighter.
According to GoFundMe, Anne Arundel County Professional Firefighter Wayne Winchester was injured off duty on Saturday October 7th. "He is currently at University of Maryland Shock Trauma and from there will be transferred to a rehabilitation facility in the upcoming days," the organizer said. "We are raising money to offset any medical expenses he will incur in addition to funding necessary modifications to his home. Any amount is greatly appreciated."
In a Facebook post, the Anne Arundel County Professional Firefighters Union said Firefighter Wayne Winchester was injured in a fall at home, suffered spinal injuries and is currently at the Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore recovering from surgery. "Our Brother has a long road ahead of him toward recovery and will have substantial expenses along the way. Please consider giving to help out," the post said.
Firefighter Winchester was assigned to Company 40 at the West Annapolis Fire Station for the last 15 years prior to the accident.
