Navy Senior Running Back Vic Listorti Named to 2026 Comeback Player of the Year Watch List

Navy senior running back Vic Listorti has been named to the 2026 Comeback Player of the Year watch list, recognizing college football student-athletes who have overcome injury, illness or other circumstances.

The watch list was released by College Sports Communicators in association with the Associated Press and the Fiesta Sports Foundation, according to an announcement by NavySports.com.

Mr. Listorti appeared in just five games for the Midshipmen last fall after battling a hamstring injury for most of the season. He had been projected to serve as the backup to Alex Tecza but finished the year with three carries for 17 yards.

Heading into the 2026 season, Mr. Listorti appears positioned for a significantly larger role. He was listed first on Navy's depth chart at running back when the Midshipmen opened preseason camp.

The Comeback Player of the Year Award has recognized college football players who have overcome significant challenges since 2018. At the conclusion of each season, three student-athletes are selected as award winners through voting by a panel of college football writers, editors and sports information directors.

The winners are honored at the Vrbo Fiesta Bowl.
Mr. Listorti's inclusion on the watch list comes as Navy prepares to begin its 2026 football season in Annapolis.

The Midshipmen will open the season at home against Towson on Saturday, Sept. 5, at 3:30 p.m.
Navy football season and single-game tickets are currently on sale through Navy Athletics by calling 1-800-US4-NAVY or through NavySports.com.
