Anne Arundel Sheriff’s Office Reports 24 Arrests During Three Week Violent Crime Operation

The Anne Arundel County Sheriff’s Office says 24 arrests were made in Anne Arundel County as part of a three week multi-agency operation that resulted in more than 100 arrests of violent offenders across Maryland and Delaware.

Anne Arundel County Sheriff Everett Sesker spoke during an announcement hosted by FBI Baltimore highlighting the results of the operation, which brought together federal, state and local law enforcement agencies.

According to the Sheriff’s Office, its deputies worked alongside the FBI, Annapolis Police Department, Anne Arundel County Police Department, Baltimore Police Department, Maryland Natural Resources Police and Maryland State Police during the three-week surge targeting individuals wanted in connection with violent crimes.

In Anne Arundel County, the operation resulted in 24 arrests involving individuals wanted for offenses including assault, rape, sexual abuse of a minor, child desertion, reckless endangerment, illegal firearm possession, robbery conspiracy and other violent crimes, according to the Sheriff’s Office.

Sesker credited coordination among the participating agencies for the arrests.

“I am incredibly proud of the collaborative effort shown by our deputies and our law enforcement partners during this highly successful operation targeting dangerous individuals,” Sesker said. “The 24 arrests made during this sweep are a direct result of the seamless coordination led by the FBI Baltimore Field Office.”

Sesker said the operation demonstrates what agencies can accomplish through coordinated enforcement efforts focused on public safety.

“By working together, we have taken these individuals off our streets, proving exactly what we can achieve when law enforcement unites with a shared focus on protecting our communities,” Sesker said.

The sheriff also characterized the operation as representative of the direction he intends for the Anne Arundel County Sheriff’s Office under his leadership.

“This proactive, aggressive approach represents the new standard for how the Sheriff’s Office conducts business under my administration,” Sesker said.»
