Authorities Investigate Multiple Over the Weekend Shootings, Reports of Shots Fired in Annapolis


Local authorities are investigating multiple shootings and shots fired cases that reportedly occured over the weekend in Annapolis. 

On Friday, June 2 at 11:17pm, officers responded to Frederick Douglass and Medgar Evers Streets for reports of shots fired. "Officers were advised that a gunshot victim was driven to an area hospital. Officers also responded to the hospital where the victim was being treated for a gunshot wound to the chest." a statement said.  "The victim was flown from the hospital to a Shock Trauma unit in critical but stable condition."

About one hour later, officers responded to a report of shots fired on Severn Island Court, where a home was struck by bullets.  The officers were then called to a shots fired scene on Newtowne Drive.  The preliminary investigation revealed that a vehicle had been damaged by gunfire.  

On Saturday, June 3, 2023 at 10:08pm, officers were dispatched to Madison Street following a call for shots fired. Upon arrival, the officers located an adult female gunshot victim who was pronounced dead at the scene. 'The victim has been identified as Amari Tydings, 26, of Annapolis," police said. 

On June 4, 2023 at 7:21am, Officers responded to Frederick Douglass and Medgar Evers Streets again after receiving a shots fired call. Officers reviewed surveilance footage showing a suspect walk to the corner, fire one shot in the air, and walk towards Tyler Avenue. 

Department officials have not released any additional details.  Anyone with information regarding any of the weekend incidents is encouraged to contact police.
