Severna Park Man, 22, Identified as Person Killed During Car Accident in D.C.

A 22 year old man from Severna Park has been identified by authorities as the person killed in a Washington D.C. car accident.

In a press release, the Metro Police Department said that at approximately 11:43 p.m., on February 3, a 2004 Infiniti G35 was travelling north in the 3000 block of 20th Street, Northeast, at a high rate of speed. The driver of the Infiniti reportedly lost control of the vehicle and struck a Jeep Cherokee that was parked on the westbound curb.

"The force of the impact pushed the Jeep backwards into a Nissan Xterra, in which the Nissan was pushed into a BMW 3 Series. The Jeep then hopped the curb and was redirected northbound approximately 20 feet before coming to final rest on the sidewalk," police said. "DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services responded to the scene and after finding no signs consistent with life, the driver remained on the scene until transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner."

The decedent was identified as Andy Jose Carino. According to an online obituary dedicated to Carino, he grew up in Severna Park where he lived with his parents, brothers, and their new puppy.

"Andy worked for his father where he always strived for perfection. Andy enjoyed spending time with his family, making music, playing video games, watching movies, and partying with his older brother and friends.

Andy’s infectious smile brought happiness to all, even in his passing. Though Andy left us far too young, he left an impressive legacy and will always hold a special place in the hearts of those who were lucky enough to meet him."
