Annapolis Police Seeks Help Solving Fatal Shooting of Local Teen on Newtowne Drive

Homicide detectives with the Annapolis Police Department are asking for help solving the recent shooting death of a local teen.

According to a police department press release, emergency vehicles responded to the 700 block of Newtowne Drive for a reported shooting at approximately 6:52 p.m. on January 22, 2023.  "The 18 year old male victim was located outside of a building suffering from injuries consistent with being shot," the release stated.  "The victim died from his injuries at the scene."

Department officials later identified the victim as Reco Ramon Johnson.

Last week, investigators released a statement saying they believe there may be social media evidence related to Mr. Johnson's death. "Detectives have received information indicating that there are relevant social media posts/videos and persons that witnessed this crime," the statement said.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Annapolis Police Department at 410-280-CLUE.
