Detention Center Visitor, Two Inmates Accused of Attempting to Smuggle Contraband into Facility

Authorities in Annapolis have accused a Jennifer Road Detention Center visitor and two inmates of allegedly attempting to smuggle contreband into the facility. 

In a press release, the Anne Arundel County Police Department said that in December of 2022, Anne Arundel County Detention Center personnel intercepted a container of contraband as it entered the detention facility. "The interception of the container prompted an investigation that was carried out by Anne Arundel County - Maryland State Police Strategic Operations Group detectives," the release stated.  "On January 4, 2023, arrest warrants were issued in connection with the investigation. With assistance from Southern District and Eastern District Tactical Patrol Units, the task force was able to locate and serve warrants on the three suspects connected to the case. "

The suspects were identified as: 

Briyanna N. Smith (visitor, pictured in the left photo)
22-year-old
Annapolis, Maryland

Orlando Jones (inmate #1, pictured in the top right photo) 
38-year-old
Annapolis, Maryland

Elijah Jackson  (inmate #2, pictured in the bottom right photo) 
26-year-old
Baltimore, Maryland

Officilals did not disclose specifically what the contraband was.
