Severna Park Resident Faces Charges for Intentionally Setting Fire to Neighbor's House, Authorities Say


Arson investigators with the Anne Arundel County Fire Department have taken a 60 year old Severna Park man into for allegedly setting his neighbor's house on fire.  

According to fire department officials, law enforcement executed an arrest warrant this morning on Aaron Keel. The suspect was taken into custody without incident and formally charged with the following:



Felony First Degree Arson
Felony Second Degree Arson
Felony Malicious Burning
Felony Home Invasion
Felony Burglary Third Degree
Misdemeanor Malicious Burning
Misdemeanor Burglary
Misdemeanor Malicious Destruction of Property


On April 13, 2025, the Anne Arundel County Fire Department responded to 3 Belhaven Court in Severna Park for a residential structure fire at a private residence owned by Stefanie and Matt Johnson. Anne Arundel County and 

Investigators also responded to the fire. They determined the fire to have been intentionally set and linked to an unlawful entry into the private residence.


A thorough investigation led to the arrest of the suspect, Aaron Keel. Investigators executed an arrest and search warrant at the suspect's residence in the same neighborhood as the residential arson.

The suspect is currently held at the Jennifer Road Detention Center awaiting a bond/bail hearing. The investigation remains ongoing, and the public is urged to contact 401-222-TIPS if they have any further information regarding this incident.
