Gambrils Road Rage Case Yields Arrest, Seizure of Multiple Firearms

Patrol officers with the Anne Arundel County Police Department arrested one person and allegedly recovered multiple firearms following a road road investigation.

In a press release, department officials said that on August 13, 2023, at approximately 10:00 a.m., the officers responded for a report of a road rage incident involving a firearm in the area of April Dawn Way and Maytime Drive. According to the press release, the unidentified victim informed officers that while confronting the occupants of a car that was speeding through the area, the passenger of the car pointed a brown and black colored handgun at him and drove away.

"During their investigation, officers located the suspect vehicle, as described by the victim, in the 2600 block of April Dawn Way. The alleged suspect was quickly located, and as officers attempted to arrest the suspect, he resisted, kicked, and spat on several officers," the press release states.  "Western District detectives obtained a search warrant for the residence and subsequently recovered three handguns, a modified shotgun, an AR-style pistol, and related ammunition. One of the semi-automatic handguns recovered matched the description of the handgun used in the incident that was provided by the victim. Detectives went on to learn that two of the handguns, the shotgun, and the AR-style pistol, had no serial numbers and or they had been altered or removed."
