Burglary Investigation in Glen Burnie Yields Arrest, Drug Recovery

An area burglary investigation resulted in one arrest and the alleged seizure of drugs, the Anne Arundel County Police Department said today. 

In a statement, department officials said that on July 31, 2023, at approximately 9:30 p.m., their officers responded for a report of a burglary in progress in the 300 block of Gatewater Court in Glen Burnie. The investigation revealed that the victim reported a suspect kicked in her apartment door wearing a ski mask and black sweatshirt, police said. "The suspect fled the scene in a gray Infinity sedan prior to officers' arrival. The suspect vehicle was located a short distance away by responding officers, and the occupants were detained without incident," the department's statement said.  "Evidence related to the burglary was located, as well as suspected cocaine, a digital scale, clear Ziploc sandwich bags, $1200 in cash, and three cellular phones."

The suspect was arrested, charged and identified as 28-year-old Corey Isaiah Abney.
