Odenton Man Pleads Guilty, Receives One Year Prison Sentence Following Arrest on Child Porn Charges

An Anne Arundel County Circuit Court judge today accepted the guilty plea of an Odenton man, before sentencing him several months after he was arrested on child porn charges.  

According to court records, Michael William Fischer, 36, entered a plea of guilty to distributing child pornography, a felony, and possession of child pornography.  Mr. Fisher was subsequently sentenced to ten years with all but 1 year suspended.  

Upon his release, Mr. Fisher will be required to serve a term of supervised probation for five years and register as a tier two sex offender. Tier two sex offenders must remain on the Maryland sex offender registry for 25 years.

On March 14, 2022, the Anne Arundel County Child Abuse Unit initiated an investigation regarding a report of a specific account that was directly associated with uploading child pornographic images to a particular internet site. 
As a result of issuing and executing several court orders, detectives identified a suspect as well as hisplace of residence.  

On January 24, 2023, detectives executed a residential search warrant in the 600 block of Carlton Otto Lane, Odenton. Michael Fisher was on scene at the time the residential search
warrant was executed.  Numerous digital devices were taken into custody and secured as evidence in order that the devices could be forensically analyzed.  

Upon the conclusion of the investigation, multiple files of child sexual abuse material were located. Fisher was later taken into custody.
