Judge Acquits Millersville Teen in Connection With Fatal Shooting on Hideaway Loop in Glen Burnie

The teen accused of murdering an aquaintance inside an apartment on Hideaway Loop Court in Glen Burnie nearly two years ago. 

An Anne Arundel County Circuit Court Judge aquitted Paul Pedro Rodriguez (left photo) of Millersville, on murder and related charges, citing insufficient evident.   Rodriguez, 19, had been charged with fatally shooting 21 year old Jordan Marroquin-Pereira (right photo), of Glen Burnie.

Sources in connection with the case says a dispute over a pawned game system is what lead up to the deadly shooting.

Shortly before 1pm on December 29, 2021, the Anne Arundel County Police Department responded to the 400 block of Hideaway Loop for a shooting.  Upon arrival of the officers, Marroquin-Pereira was located in a condition consistent with being shot, and he died a short time later. Through investigative means, detectives later identified Rodriguez as a suspect. 

It is unclear if county prosecutors will pursue a second trial.
