Crash on Generals Highway in Annapolis Claims Life of Crownsville Man
The Anne Arundel County Police Department is reportedly investigating an accident which claimed the life of a man from Crownsville.
In a press release, authorities said that on February 20, 2025, at approximately 11:58 p.m., officers responded to a crash on Generals Highway near Knollwood Drive. "A preliminary investigation revealed that a 2015 Hyundai Sonata was traveling northwest on Generals Highway when it crossed the center line and struck a 1997 Toyota 4Runner head-on," officials said. "The operator of the Hyundai was transported to Anne Arundel Medical Center, where he was pronounced deceased. One passenger of the Toyota was taken to the University of Maryland Regional Medical Center, and another was transported to Anne Arundel Medical Center."
Jonathan David Rober was identified as the person killed in the accident. According to an online obituary, Jonathan proudly served in the United States Navy as a Nuclear Electronics Technician for ten years. His service included time aboard the USS Newport News during the opening days of the Iraq/Gulf war, the obituation said. "He spent his final three years of active duty stationed in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii. His contributions to the Navy and his expertise were highly respected by his shipmate and those who served alongside him."
The operator of the Toyota was not injured. This incident remains under investigation by the Crash Reconstruction Team.
