Annapolis City Council Member Enters Mayoral Race

An Annapolis City Council member, ward 3 Alderwoman Rhonda Pindell-Charles, has entered the race for Mayor.

According to a campaign press release, Alderwoman Rhonda Pindell-Charles made the announcement during a campaign launch event yesterday at St. Philip’s Episcopal Church.  "Rhonda Pindell Charles has proudly served as Alderwoman for Ward 3 since 2013, advocating for her community with dedication and leadership," the press release said. "The Alderwoman is a multi-generational product of Annapolis and has been for her entire life. For over 30 years, Rhonda has been extremely active and involved in the community."

"As Annapolis City Councilwoman/Alderwoman of Ward 3 since 2013, Rhonda Pindell Charles, Esq. is a servant leader who tirelessly works for the betterment of her community and constituents," a campaign website says.  "Chair of the City Council’s Public Safety Standing Committee, City Council representative for the County’s Gun Violence Prevention Task Force, and serves on the Youth-Schools Subcommittee, in addition to periodically serving as Acting Mayor for the City of Annapolis."
