Questions Remain Unanswered in Odenton Murder Suicide Case Involving Father-Son Murder Suicide
Local and federal authorities continue to investigate the events that may have led up to a recent murder-suicide involving a father and son from Odenton.
On November 1, 2023, at approximately 9:50 a.m., officers from the Western District responded to the 500 block of Retreat Court in Odenton for a suspicious death. Upon arrival, officers located a 34-year-old male victim inside a residence suffering from an apparent gunshot wound(s).
Additionally, the individual who was reportedly found with a self-inflicted gun shot wound in the Army and Air Forces Exchange Service parking was identified as Jack M. Nabakowski, a retired member of the Air Force.
Further investigation revealed that Jack Nabakowski was responsible for the homicide of the 34-year-old victim and son, Steven Michael Nabakowski. Jack and Steven reportedly shared the home on Retreat Court together.
In a statement, the Anne Arundel County Police Department said that the motive remains under investigation. "Homicide detectives are investigating and ask anyone with any information to call 410-222-4731 or the TipLine at 410-222-4700," the statement said. "The final cause and manner of death will be determined by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Baltimore."
