Man Arrested in Connection with Fatal Annapolis Shooting Gets Held Without Bond

One of the individuals arrested and charged in connection with the fatal shooting of an aspiring nurse nearly two years ago has been ordered to be held without bond, according to court records.

In a press statement, officials with the Annapolis Police Department said that on January 26, 2022, at approximately 9:10pm,  officers responded to the 1100 block of Madison Street for a reported shooting. Officers arrived and found 21 year old Shakeo Williams (left photo) suffering from injuries consistent with being shot. Williams was later pronounced dead.

Earlier this week, homicide detectives with the Annapolis Police Department announced the arrest of Damisi Jones (right photo), a 22-year-old male of Severn, and a 17-year-old male from Annapolis. It is unclear if the 17 year old suspect, who Report Annapolis is not identifying at this time, is being charged as an adult or a minor.

Both individuals have been charged with First Degree Murder, Second Degree Murder, Attempted 1st Degree Murder, Attempted 2nd Degree Murder, two counts of First Degree Assault, two counts of Second Degree Assault, having a handgun on person, having a loaded handgun on person, and firearm use in commission of a felony/violent crime.

This morning, an Annapolis District Court Judge demanded that Jones be held at the Jennifer Road Detention on a no bond status, court records indicate.

"Our beautiful sister Shakeo Williams was taken from us so suddenly by a senseless act of violence," an online tribute said. "She had goals and alot of ambition to get there. She was going to school to be a CNA with plans to ultimately become a nurse."
